HOME SWEET HOME…Everyone gathered in Texas for Garrett’s Missionary Homecoming…

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

The weekend of March 15th turned out to be an extremely uplifting and memorable weekend as Garrett, Brennen, and McKell prepared and presented a truly inspired Sacrament meeting program for the Granbury 2nd Ward. Thank you so much for sharing your tremendous testimonies with us…and McKell, thank you for sharing your gift of music.

The meeting was followed by a superb Missionary Fireside at James and Genie Bandy’s home–a favorite gathering place on the Banks of the Brazos–it is frequented by friends and family…and honestly, the Bandy’s treat us like family. Lucky us! They put together quite the feast, supllemented by more Texas fixins from Genie’s Mama, Anne, and Brenda Fisher too. I’m getting pretty good with the Texas BBQ too, so I made several pans of it. Top it off with two massive salads–Ambrosia and a Tossed green, and I tell you, there’s wasn’t a hungry soul for miles! 🙂 What a beautiful Sunday–where we enjoyed both a feast for the spirit and the body. Thank you everyone for all the love and support in welcoming our Elder Garrett Gee home from Vladivostok…a truly BIG welcome…exactly what TEXAS is KNOWN for!

Love,

Blogger Christina said…

Baby Violet is so amazing!!!!! She must take after her Mama and big sister Leah. I’m so humbled I get to share my name with her. I love you Violet and your cousins are kicking a lot and want to play with you soon!

Special note: Aunt Christina’s twins are now at 32 weeks! We all think she’s pretty amazing too…how does she manage to still stay on her toes? Between her Aunt Chrissy, and her big sister Leah, I definitely think Baby Violet is assured complimentary ballet lessons!

BABY VIOLET IS THE LUCKIEST BABY IN THE WORLD…SHE HAS HER BIG SISTER, LEAH WATCHING OVER HER!

Have you heard of the term, “Super Sister”? Well, guess what? Baby Violet Christina has one! Her name is Leah Gabrielle. And, Leah loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, loves, her baby sister more than there are stars in the universe!

Thank you Leah for being such a tremendously loving BIG SISTER!

WE ALL LOVE YOU BOTH SO VERY MUCH!

St. Marks Hospital – -Breaking News! This just in.

Brand New Baby–Violet Christina Folk and her very happy Mama and Daddy Rich, are already en route home from the hospital. These photos were just submitted. She’s getting more and more beautiful every day (can that even be possible).

With their ‘priceless cargo’ safely tucked into her brand new car seat, it is also nice to know that Violet is being driven in a brand new and very safe Audi SUV! HELLO– She is after all, already referred to as “Princess V!” How apropos is that?

We love you Violet!

VIOLET CHRISTINA FOLK HAS ARRIVED!

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

We are proud to announce the smooth, easy arrival (even her Mama, Joanna, admits it) of the newest addition to our ever growing family: Beautiful baby girl, named VIOLET CHRISTINA. Violet is named after her Great grandmother Violet, and Aunt Christina. She was born on March 18th at 10:17 pm, just approximately 30 minutes after the OB walked in to begin the process of delivering her!

Mama, Joanna, and Papa Rich are all doing fine, feeling forever grateful at her safe and healthy arrival. (She scored a superb 9 on the Apgar test!) Weighing in at a petite 6.2 pounds, 17″ tall, her Mama exclaimed, “It is such a miracle…she’s so beautiful and so content!”

As you’ll notice from these very early photos taken by her Uncle Garrett just minutes after her delivery, she’s already accustomed to photo ops…even offering a smile! By the way, it was Uncle Garrett who also gave Violet’s mama–(his “favorite sister” as Joanna claims :-)– a heartfelt blessing and offered a prayer shortly after Joanna arrived at the hospital, asking for Heavenly Father’s tender care that all would go well. Thank you Uncle Garrett. HE answered all our prayers!

Now only three more to go before the year is over as we await the Spring arrival of Violet’s cousins: Chrissy and Shelby’s twins; and in the Fall, the arrival of McKell and Brennen’s baby. Will we get a Joseph Gee the 7th? Such exciting times in the Gee-Henderson family tree!!!

Welcome to the World Violet…WE ALL LOVE YOU SO!
